NAB Rules and Resources
The National Astro Bowl is a fast-paced competition that challenges middle and high school students on astronomy, astrophysics, and space science knowledge. Teams compete in a format where they answer questions drawn from textbooks, scientific research, NASA resources, and current discoveries.
Hosting a regional round at your school provides students in your community with the chance to showcase their knowledge, develop teamwork, and connect with professional scientists and educators.
To host a regional Astro Bowl, schools should be able to provide:
Facilities
One auditorium or large classroom for opening and closing ceremonies.
Multiple breakout rooms for simultaneous quiz rounds (typically 4–6 rooms).
Space for judge panels and scorekeepers in each room.
Projector and microphone for main events.
Reliable Wi-Fi access.

9:00–12:00 pm – Preliminary rounds
12:00–1:00 pm – Lunch break
