The Science Club National Astro Bowl is a nationwide in-person academic competition that tests students’ knowledge in major areas of science. Middle and high school student teams are comprised of four students, one optional alternate, and an adult who serves as an advisor and coach. These teams face-off in a fast-paced question-and-answer format, being tested on a range of science disciplines including biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, and astronomy.
The Science Club created the National Astro Bowl in 2025 to encourage students to excel in science and to pursue careers in these fields.
Beginning January each year, middle and high school students will compete in regional Astro Bowl tournaments. The Science Club manages the National Astro Bowl, and sponsors the NAB finals competition.
